President - Milwaukee Chapter
"We are planning to offer programs to enhance your leadership skills regardless of where you are in your development."
Greetings Fellow Members,

Wow!!   First, a round of applause for the Chapter Executive Board;  you elected an outstanding group of leaders who are passionate about the NBMBAA and the success of the Milwaukee Chapter!  My first year as your president was a blur because it went so fast.  As we continue to identify ways to make your membership experience rewarding, the Chapter Executive Board challenges itself to listen and incorporate your ideas into the annual planning process.  We have strong partnerships with National Headquarters and the Wisconsin Fresh Coast Consortium which give us the opportunity to showcase our talents and skills while positively impacting the programming offered by the organization.

As I reflect on 2012, we had some noteworthy accomplishments:

• We sponsored The College Connection
• Partnered with NSHMBA to host our first collaborative   diversity career fair
• Two members of our CEB, Carla Washington and Cecily   Keys-Kelly were judges at the Leaders of Tomorrow Case   Competition
• We hosted a well attended pre-conference mixer and our   members networked with our corporate partners and   received job offers

Jesse J. Tyson has accepted the reigns as our National Interim President Tyson.  In a recent article he stated, “I’m pleased to join the NBMBAA executive team and to further build a strategic platform for the future.”  That strategic platform allows NBMBAA to look ahead and identify programs and services that will continue to enhance your experience as members and leaders.

As the local chapter continues to build our professional development offerings, we need your help in identifying what will help close the gap for you, our members.  We are planning to offer programs to enhance your leadership skills regardless of where you are in your development.  Our goal is to provide tools to make your resume’, Linked-In profile and your brand (elevator speech) nothing short of phenomenal.

Use the Milwaukee Chapter an incubator for you to take risks and test your leadership ideas and creativity.  So we invite you to join a committee to build leadership skills while contributing your talent to the chapter.  If you have volunteered on a committee before, we invite you back to share from a different perspective or to try a different committee.  Remember, the local chapter is only as strong as its membership.

In closing, you are the leader your company, this community and this organization is looking for so stay tuned for a great 2013.
