Happy New Year Fellow NBMBAA Milwaukee Chapter Members!!!
2012 marks our 20th year as a chartered chapter and it is my distinct pleasure to be your leader for this great milestone! Congratulations to all of you for being a member of this powerful organization, regardless of whether you have been a member for the entire 20 years or you just joined yesterday, your membership is important to us. 2012 promises to be a year of transition, growth and leadership development. We have a team of dynamic leaders who are all in new roles and transitioning nicely. Serving in this dynamic organization provides many opportunities for professional and personal growth. If you talk to or follow the career of many who are in executive leadership, you will learn that they got their wings by serving in organizations like NBMBAA, NABA, NSBE, their sorority or fraternity, etc. So we invite you to join one of our committees.
I am passionate about this organization and I know we can do great things in Milwaukee and the surrounding communities together. We have been representing you in the community and with our corporate partners. We were there for the inaugural OneMke Presidents Meeting and Town Hall meeting at MATC sponsored by the NAACP. There are many opportunities for us to shape the landscape of the city so stay tuned as we figure how we can be impactful in this space.
We have heard you loud and clear that you want more opportunities to network, more professional development and access to job opportunities from our corporate partners. We met as a Chapter Executive Board (CEB) and we have goals to bring you those things that make your membership more valuable to you. We will share our 2012 calendar with you at our general membership meeting and keep information before you on our website.
We are in the planning stages of one of my major goals for 2012, which is to create an Executive Advisory Board of individuals who have cracked the code of corporate leadership in the C Suite and can support the implementation and delivery of our strategies. Did you know we have a member of the National Board of Directors right here in the Milwaukee Chapter? Did you know that we also have published authors and top 100 executives on our National Board of Directors? We need to gain access to those leaders.
Finally, welcome to the new chapter of the National Hispanic MBAs that launched here in Milwaukee last November. We look forward to some meaningful collaboration with them as we continue to make Milwaukee a more diverse place to live, work and play.
